About Dr Liz
I'm Liz! Having been fond of science from being in primary school, I went to Uni to study Microbiology in 2010. I learned about all kinds of things, but I really became fascinated by viruses. In 2020 I completed a Master's degree in Virology (the irony of doing this during the COVID pandemic is not lost on me..). More recently I competed a PhD in pharmacology, focusing on finding treatments for infectious diseases.
In the meantime, I've spent the last 12 years working as a researcher in infectious disease pharmacology - I look into new and improving treatments for all kinds of viral diseases including HIV, Hepatitis and COVID.
I've acquired a fair bit of knowledge and I absolutely love science. I want to help students navigate the sometimes complicated world of Biology and impart some of my adoration for the subject to the next generation of potential scientists
