About Herbie
My name is Herbie, I graduated from the University of York with a BSc in Biology (with a year in industry). I am deeply passionate about biology ever since A-levels. I had a fantastic teacher who really inspired me to pursue to and now I am set to take the next step soon with a PhD back at York. Teaching biology is important for me as I hope to give back to the next generation of potential young scientists. Especially important now more than ever.

I take an interactive method of teaching focusing on key ideas/information, question rationalisation, methods and data evaluation. I find these are where most students falter in. A typical lesson will dive deep into a particular topic the student is having problems with and explore right from the basics. For example, I know A-levels can be very particular with their answers. I will help students understand not just the topic but what they have to write in order to be successful. For undergrads, understanding data and bringing together key pieces of information is critical for success. I will equip students with the knowledge of a Frist class degree in addition to the wisdom of my time in academia.
