I think the best way to learn is through practicals, going through practice problems and mock exams, and keeping students engaged by showing real-life applications.
I try to break down and explain concepts in different ways to help students understand. A typical tutoring session may include: going over that week's lessons to figure out where students are struggling, going over homework and completing worksheets, explaining answers and creating useful study tools (such as mnemonics, flash cards, visual tools). I work best in one-to-one sessions or small groups.
