About Devika
Hi there!
To start, I have had a love for biology for a long time, starting around the beginning of high school when I took my first biology class. After this, I did anything and everything to learn more. After taking both AP biology and chemistry, I was able to seriously pursue scientific research related to biological concepts. For the first 8 months of my research, I worked to analyze the effects of insulin on amyloid-beta in Alzheimer's patients. I wrote a scientific paper, using many if not all of the biochemistry concepts I had learned.
Although my results were truly significant, I found teaching and presenting to be the most important aspect of the experience. For me, helping others understand by furthering knowledge is my utmost priority. Biology is a fundamental concept that is crucial to many other fields of study.
I've helped over 15-20 high schools students and many have found significant improvement and greater comprehension overall. I have a love for learning and teaching biology and hope I can pass that onto you as your tutor.

As your tutor I will:
- Answer specific questions related to homework/studying
- Offer resources and studying tips that will help you (based on personal experience)
- Tutor and teach you concepts based on YOUR learning style (spacial, kinesthetic, linguistic, etc.)
- Commit myself to your success
I have worked with many high school students, as I am a recent graduate myself. Being younger has benefitted me as a tutor, as I understand the overall learning experience quite well.
Examples of classes and concepts I have tutored include:
- Honors Biology
- Honors Chemistry
- Honors Zoology
- AP Biology
- AP Chemistry
- Anatomy/ Human Anatomy
- Biology SAT Subject Test Prep
- Physical Science
- General biological concepts (including ecology and evolution)
Although I have a lot of experience in the field of molecular biology (biochemistry), I am still quite comfortable teaching any concept related to biology or chemistry. I have taken many classes and have spent a lot of time in the field, so feel free to ask any questions regarding any concepts you need help with.
