About Payton
I am a current student at the University of Tampa. I am studying Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology. I am also a member of the women's lacrosse team, so I am super understanding of busy schedules. I finished my freshman year of college with a 3.52 GPA and am currently in my sophomore year. Throughout high school and college combined, I have taken honors chemistry, AP chemistry, General Chemistry 1 and 2, and am currently enrolled in organic chemistry.

My goal is to make chemistry understandable and less intimidating by breaking difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, practice problems, and questions to help students understand the “why” behind the material rather than simply memorizing it. A typical lesson would begin by reviewing previous material and identifying areas of difficulty, followed by an explanation of the new concept, guided practice, and independent problems to build confidence. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn from mistakes. What sets me apart is my patience, ability to explain concepts in different ways, and genuine interest in helping students succeed. I offer tutoring for middle and high school students taking introductory and advanced chemistry courses, including students who need extra support, help preparing for exams, or assistance understanding challenging topics.
