About Ariel
I am a Media Studies and Master of Management student at the University of British Columbia. I graduated from a francophone high school in Toronto and completed the Bilingual IB Diploma. I have been speaking French from an early age and am completely fluent. In the past, I have worked as a ski instructor for three years, a camp counsellor and a peer mentor.

I am very passionate about languages and creative learning. I approach my classes with a structured plan after having spoken with the student to understand what their learning goals are. I understand that not all students have the same learning styles; therefore, I like to get to know my students and fully understand which teaching method works best - whether it be visual, auditory or kinesthetic learning. I am creative when it comes to finding solutions to help students understand a topic or concept. An example of this could be the creation of a game or visual drawing/map. Creativity and diversity are what make learning so special and unique to every student and I like to try and offer that as best I can. This is why I do not teach all students in the same manner. I keep the same content structure; however, the way in which I deliver the content will vary depending on each learning style.
Given my experience teaching in other areas, I believe that my fluency in French will make me a good fit to teach or tutor high school students or beginner-level university students (FREN101 to 202) in the French language. In addition, given my long history of working with kids, I am also open to tutoring kids one on one.

Ariel is a very hardworking and dedicated person. She always makes people feel comfortable and welcomed, which would make her a great teacher. There is no one I trust more than her. Her strong dedication to everything she puts her mind to is a great teaching skill, because she will work with students until they feel more than satisfied with what they’ve learned. I was struggling with a course in my first term of university, and Ariel never failed to try to help me understand and always set aside time to help me, even though she didn’t take the course, showing her caring and selfless she is. Anyone would be more than lucky to have Ariel as their tutor.
Ariel does her best to make each and every student comfortable and welcome while tackling a new language! She is very dedicated to her work and always creates a strong, detailed yet customized study plan for each student.
Ariel is patient, caring and very helpful. Her French help is excellent and she is able to produce great results through strategies, offering tips and ideas, eye for detail, and her dedication to success.
