About Miranda
I'm a bilingual English and French speaker. I have accrued over five hundred hours of teaching foreign languages in a school setting and over 200 as a private tutor in both the UK and France.
I graduated from Durham University with a First-Class degree in History with a year abroad. I have lived in Paris, the Côte d'Azur, and Lyon, and I am currently working towards the QTS and PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL French).

I help students gain confidence in all aspects of French learning, from speaking and listening to reading and writing. I have extensive experience teaching foreign languages to children and young adults of all ages and abilities and I am currently working towards the QTS and PGCE at a secondary school as a trainee French teacher.
Together with students I create bespoke French tutoring lessons, working on areas that matter most to each individual learner and in ways that make sense to them. I believe in the nativist approach to language learning, meaning full immersion in the language and culture with an emphasis on fluidity in spoken communication, but I can also help you to fine-tune grammar, broaden your vocabulary, and improve accuracy.
