About Amay
I’m an architectural technologist with over 10 years of experience using Revit and SketchUp. My project experience spans residential homes, multifamily developments, commercial spaces and institutional buildings, giving me a practical understanding of how these tools are used across different building types.
As an active industry professional, I bring real project experience into my lessons, from developing design concepts and creating 3D models to preparing detailed drawings and navigating permit requirements in Alberta.
I enjoy helping students connect what they learn on screen with how projects come together in practice. My teaching approach is patient, hands-on and tailored to your goals, whether you’re discovering architectural design, developing your skills for school or looking to work more confidently in the industry.

Learn Revit and SketchUp with a working architectural designer who uses these tools on real multifamily and commercial projects. My lessons connect software skills with practical knowledge of how projects move from an initial concept to drawings, permit submissions and construction.
Whether you’re a student, a beginner exploring architectural design, or a professional improving your skills, I tailor each lesson to your experience, goals and pace.
In Revit, we will cover:
• Project setup, levels and grids.
• 3D modeling of walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows and stairs.
• Creating floor plans, elevations, sections and schedules.
• Adding dimensions, annotations and details.
• Organizing sheets and preparing clear drawing packages.
• Dynamo for advanced students, including workflow automation, data management and parametric modeling.
• Advanced 3D modeling techniques and developing efficient, coordinated Revit models.
In SketchUp, we will cover:
• Creating and editing accurate 3D models.
• Using groups, components and tags to keep models organized.
• Developing residential and commercial design concepts.
• Applying materials and setting up scenes.
• Presenting your ideas clearly to clients and project teams.
Alongside the software, I share practical insights from my experience on projects in Alberta, including the differences between development and building permits, how municipal requirements influence design, common submission documents, and responding to review comments. Requirements vary by municipality and project, so we’ll also discuss how to find and check the information that applies.
Lessons are hands-on, with guided exercises and opportunities to ask questions. My goal is to help you understand both how to use the software and why drawings are prepared a certain way, so you can build confidence and apply what you learn to your studies or professional work.
