About Ali
I've refined a focused and effective syllabus that is immediately applicable to the modern rock landscape. I've delivered lectures and written papers on rock and metal for music theory journals. I've used the material from my lectures to create a theoretical framework for analyzing the language of modern rock and metal, taking heavy inspiration from the musicology component of my degree.

I use a syllabus based on the material I learned from the Berklee College of Music, with a particular focus on concepts found in modern rock and metal guitar playing. On top of foundational technique and music theory, I'll cover modern guitar production, sound design and extended range (7 and 8 string guitar) vocabulary.
