About Aslesha
As a dedicated math enthusiast at UC Berkeley, I find joy in sharing my passion for numbers with students who might not yet see the beauty and practical applications of mathematics. My academic journey through Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics has equipped me with both theoretical knowledge and problem-solving techniques that I'm eager to share! My teaching style combines patience with enthusiasm – I get genuinely excited when students have "aha!" moments and overcome challenges they previously thought impossible. These breakthroughs are what make tutoring so rewarding for me. My passion for education was solidified when I founded Birdbath Tutoring, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free educational support to bridge learning gaps in Orange County communities. I'm committed to adapting my methods to each student's interests, creating a fun, engaging environment where math transforms from a dreaded subject into an empowering skill that opens doors to future opportunities.

I believe in tailoring each lesson to my students' unique learning style and needs. I always start by getting to know my students personally - understanding their strengths, challenges, and interests is the foundation of effective tutoring.
I take time to identify how each student learns best, whether through visual aids, hands-on problems, or conceptual discussions. This allows me to format my lessons in ways that are fun, engaging, and effective, specifically for them.
A typical session begins with a review of challenging homework or concepts, followed by guided practice using varied problem-solving techniques. I emphasize building intuitive understanding rather than memorization, and incorporate examples that make abstract mathematical concepts concrete and memorable.
What distinguishes my tutoring is my ability to connect mathematical concepts to practical applications that students can relate to. I specialize in working with middle and high school students from Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus and Statistics, including those seeking enrichment beyond their grade level.
