About Arpine
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I travel often, and have taught English as a second language in places like China, Armenia, and the Netherlands. I was also working online for italki for quite some time as well. In my spare time, I have always had students who either wanted to learn English for the first time; wanted to prepare for some sort of test; or just wanted to brush up on their English skills.

Of course, each student will have their individualized plan depending on their scholarly goals.
If the student wants to improve their essay writing skills, we will begin the lesson by going through the different kinds of essays. They will go through the formats and write different kinds of essay in different topics. We will then read the essays together, and, let's say they have an issue when it comes to persuasive essays, we will then focus on that. We will also go through the grammar issues together and I will assign homework each day to better their writing skills.
If we're learning about English Literature, we will choose a genre that suits them, we will read and do some comprehension excersices as well. I also like to relate books to real-life expereinces, so we will do mini projects along the way until the end. By the time we reach the end of the book, I will assign a book report or project.With the students who also lack writing skills, they will write a book report. For the rest, they can use become creative with their thoughts and make some sort of project. Whether we will use graphic design, or drawing, or physically creating something, that already depends on what the student would like and my individual relationship with the student.
