I've been sewing since I was six years old, I won a North America-wide sewing contest when I was 18, and I've been sewing ever since! I'm here to help you learn through virtual lessons.

About Shannon
I have been sewing since I was six years old, even though my formal schooling is in science (I have a B.Sc. and an M.Sc.). After my first year of university, I applied to the Super Online Sewing Match while I was working full-time, and won! During the competition, I impressed the judges by modifying the patterns the judges gave me to fit my own style, and also by adding hand-sewn details wherever possible. While I have no formal training in sewing or fashion, I have taught many friends to sew, and I love sharing my passion.

I adapt based on your experience and your equipment! Given the current circumstances, I cannot offer lessons on my own sewing machine, but if you have one in storage, now is the perfect time to learn! I can provide simple beginner patterns and talk you through every step, including fabric shopping, assembling the pattern, cutting your fabric, and putting together the garment. I'm very flexible based on what you would like to learn to make!

My travel fee will vary depending on where you are located, and I will waive it for online lessons. I can offer a sliding scale if my rates are not affordable for you - priority given to LGBTQ2A+ and BIPOC individuals. However, please keep in mind that I am a student trying to make ends meet!
