About Samiul

I am a Doctoral Researcher in Law in the United Kingdom and a Barrister of England and Wales (non-practising) with over 15 years of professional experience in legal practice and legal education. Alongside my academic work, I practise as a senior legal practitioner before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, where I have worked on complex matters involving constitutional law, commercial disputes, maritime law, and international trade.

Over the years, I have also developed substantial experience in teaching university-level law. I previously taught University of London LLB courses at registered teaching centres, where I delivered lectures and tutorials in subjects such as Public Law, Jurisprudence, Contract Law, Company Law, Administrative Law, and the English Legal System. My teaching involved both large lectures and small-group tutorials, helping students develop the analytical and writing skills necessary to succeed in legal studies.

My academic training includes an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills in the UK, and a Master of Laws (LLM). I am currently undertaking doctoral research focusing on the regulation of artificial intelligence and legal governance, an area that reflects my broader interest in the interaction between law, technology, and public institutions.

Having worked both as a law lecturer and a practising lawyer, I understand the importance of connecting legal theory with practical legal reasoning. My aim in teaching is not only to help students perform well in their examinations, but also to help them build the intellectual foundations that are essential for a successful career in law.

Students who study with me benefit from structured guidance, clear explanations of complex legal ideas, and insights drawn from real legal practice.

My approach to teaching law focuses primarily on developing strong fundamentals. In my experience as a legal practitioner for over 15 years, I have learnt that a solid understanding of basic legal principles ultimately shapes a lawyer’s entire career whether in legal practice, academia, or public service. Many students struggle with law not because the subject is inherently difficult, but because the foundational concepts are not explained clearly at the beginning. My teaching therefore emphasises clarity, structure, and deep understanding of core legal ideas.

During lessons, I focus on helping students understand how legal reasoning works. This includes identifying legal issues, understanding the relevant cases and statutes, and applying the law to problem questions and essays in a structured and analytical way. I also help students develop the ability to think critically and write clear, well-structured legal answers.

I often use PowerPoint presentations and concise lecture summary notes to explain complex legal topics in a structured manner. These materials help students follow the logic of the subject and revise the key principles more effectively.

When teaching subjects such as Public Law and Jurisprudence, I also bring in elements of political history and political science. Law does not exist in isolation. Constitutional principles, legal institutions, and legal philosophies are deeply connected with political developments and historical context. Without understanding the political history behind legal systems, it is often difficult to fully appreciate why certain legal doctrines exist. By introducing these broader perspectives, I aim to help students develop a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the law.

A typical lesson usually lasts around 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if students require additional support for exams or coursework. My lessons are interactive, and students are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion so that they can build confidence in analysing legal issues independently.

I have previously taught University of London LLB courses at registered teaching centres and have extensive experience teaching subjects such as Public Law, Contract Law, Company Law, Administrative Law, Jurisprudence, and the English Legal System. My lessons are suitable for LLB students, university law students, Bar training students, and advanced A-Level law students who wish to strengthen their understanding of legal principles and improve their academic performance.
