I love teaching, and I love learning languages, as I have once relied on the patience of my Japanese teachers while I studied abroad in Japan at Keio University, a top University in East Asia. For my degree, I studied many foreign languages. My expertise is in East Asian languages, but I have a general understanding of various language families and language mechanics from all over the world. Regardless of what your native tongue is, you will feel safe, accepted, and comfortable with me as I guide you to American English fluency!
My methods depend on the clients' goals. Typically, we will go over basic conversation skills, (both professional and casual). Once we have that base covered, we will focus on the clients' specific interests and use relevant media and topics to gauge the clients' interests so that learning becomes more fun.
My lessons can be for literally anything. I can help edit your essays and formal documents, teach vocabulary on challenging topics, and even give cultural context to much of the common slang spoken by American youth.
