About Laura
I have my Bachelor of Education with a major in elementary education and a minor in English Language Arts. I work in an elementary school as a Reading Intervention Specialist. As well, I'm currently working with my district to expand my program into other schools and teach other educators to achieve the same success my students are reaching. My goal is to have every child feel the joy of reading and turn them into lifelong readers.

Using a variety of techniques from phonics, Orton-Gillingham, Heggerty, Reading Rockets, other literacy programs, and years of personal experience I will customize lessons for each child. After a chance to assess what your child needs, I will build a custom plan to address what literacy support(s) that will launch them to success. I will continuously adjust lessons to accommodate what they are struggling with to give them the best chance of reaching new skills. Lessons will be a mix of written work, speaking/reading, and literacy games to keep them engaged. I am extremely passionate about helping students reach goals they never thought they could achieve. I specialize in teaching earlier readers from the very beginning of their reading journey in grade 1 into reading fluency at a grade 5 level. However, I work daily with students ranging from kindergarten up to grade 7.
