About Jiya Rajesh
I am someone who enjoys helping others learn in a clear and supportive way. I have always found it rewarding to explain ideas to others and make them easier to understand, especially by using simple explanations, examples, and relatable analogies.
What motivates me to teach is seeing students move from confusion to clarity and gradually gain confidence in what they are learning. I find it fulfilling to be part of that process and to support students as they improve over time.
I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and are not afraid to make mistakes. My focus is on helping them understand concepts deeply and build confidence in their own abilities.

My approach to tutoring is student-focused and adaptable, with an emphasis on building understanding rather than memorization. I break concepts down step-by-step, use clear examples, and include guided practice to ensure students fully grasp the material. I also adjust my teaching style based on each student’s learning needs and regularly check for understanding.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes, which allows enough time for explanation, practice, and revision without rushing.
I have prior tutoring experience, where I supported students in improving their understanding of subject content, completing homework, and preparing for assessments. Alongside this, my peer mentoring role at University of Melbourne and leadership experience in student council have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, communicate effectively, and guide others with patience.
My tutoring is mainly aimed at primary to high school students, focusing on building strong foundational skills and confidence in learning.
