About Grace
I am a motivated student currently progressing through my second university degree. I achieved highly at school and university, but academics do not come naturally to me (or anyone, I believe). This meant that I paid special attention to how I learned best, so I could grow from the challenges I faced in education. Over time, I built confidence and good study habits, which served me well; I graduated my Bachelor of Science with an A average and received a scholarship for further study!
I have a keen interest in the sciences and enjoy sharing my knowledge and strategies with other students. In my time tutoring I have worked with many students with different learning styles and goals, but my main focus is always to support students in finding a style of learning that works for them and allows them to enjoy the subject.

My qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (University of Otago) in Pharmacology (similar to biochemistry), with a minor in Statistics. Currently studying Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Canterbury.
5 years of tutoring experience at high school level, have retained some clients into their first year of university. 2 years experience as a Kumon tutor teaching English and Maths from primary to high school in a group setting.
Lesson format:
I believe the best way to learn is by doing, so I work with students on sample questions and homework assignments to demonstrate the required skills. Lessons are normally 1 hour, but I am happy to work around your schedule. Note: webcam is available but I prefer to teach in-person.
My lessons are best suited to high-school (years 9-10, NCEA) students needing extra help with maths, statistics, science, chemistry, physics, or biology.
