About Sinem
Hello! I’m Sinem Sivas, a passionate and experienced music educator from Turkey, now continuing my journey in beautiful Melbourne. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education from Dokuz Eylül University and have been teaching in schools and music academies since 2017. With over 8 years of experience, I specialize in violin and piano lessons for children, complete beginners, and students preparing for exams, concerts, or auditions. My teaching style is a balance of structure and creativity — I love using methods like Orff-Schulwerk and Kodály to make learning fun, expressive, and meaningful. I’ve had the joy of working with students in Antalya, İzmir, and now Melbourne, offering both individual and group lessons. Each lesson is tailored to the student — their pace, interests, and goals guide the way. I also support students preparing for AMEB exams, school auditions, and public performances. Currently, I teach at Star Music Academy in Melbourne, and I also offer private lessons from my home in Coburg, online, or at students’ homes nearby. I believe music should be joyful, expressive, and something children carry with them for life. That’s why I also invite parents to join in during early childhood lessons — it creates a safe, shared space for musical growth. Let’s explore music together in a way that’s personal, creative, and full of joy!

As a graduate of Music Education with years of experience teaching both in schools and private settings, I offer engaging and student-centered violin lessons, especially designed for young learners and beginners. My teaching approach combines structure and play. I use the Orff-Schulwerk method, encouraging children to explore music through rhythm, movement, and creativity. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace and personality, helping them feel confident and enjoy the learning process. A typical lesson lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the student's age and needs. Lessons include violin technique, ear training, basic music theory, musical games, sight-reading, and repertoire development. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and have over 8 years of experience working with students of various ages and skill levels. I also offer special preparation for: Conservatory entrance exams Music school auditions Certification programs such as AMEB For younger students, I warmly welcome parents to attend lessons. This supports the child’s learning journey in a safe and encouraging environment and allows families to be involved in their progress. These lessons are ideal for: Children aged 4–12 Anyone who wants to start learning the violin from scratch Students preparing for music exams or school auditions Families looking for a trustworthy, experienced, and caring music teacher My goal is to provide a warm, inspiring, and structured learning space where students can build strong musical foundations and a lifelong love for music.
