About Giacomo
I graduated from a classical high school in Bari. The first two years were very intense, the amount of study in a high school is not at all comparable to middle school and to get good results I had to learn to study methodically.
After graduating, I enrolled at the Polytechnic of Turin to study Computer Engineering.
Despite my high school results, the Polytechnic was the place where I suffered and struggled the most. Studying subjects that were very different from each other and often outside my interests required a lot of effort and it was not always easy to keep motivated.
I obtained my Master's Degree in July 2022 and now I work as a Research Fellow at the Politecnico, with the same research group where I did my Master's thesis.
I have been studying for as long as I can remember, and I know the difficulties and the feelings that are felt.
With my lessons I hope to be able to help in reducing obstacles that seem insuperable or simply in putting order in the management of the study and of the method.

For high school students, my teaching method consists in reinforcing the concepts learned in the classroom by identifying the student's difficulties and the most problematic topics. Rather than re-explaining the whole theory, I prefer to explain the arguments starting from exemplary exercises, minimizing downtime in order to give more value to the hours spent with the student.
For university students I propose preparation for computer science and programming exams. We will immediately focus on the exam syllabus to identify the key topics and the lessons will focus on the safest and most effective way to take on the exam.
For my lessons to be effective, the student needs to spend at least the same amount of time independently studying as they spend with me. My goal is therefore also to teach and guide the student on how to study alone, acquiring a study method and the necessary confidence to no longer need my help.
