About Hope
I am a professional classical guitarist and hold a First Class Bachelors and Masters degree, and an Artist Diploma from the Royal College of Music. I give concerts regularly and have played at venues such as Wigmore Hall, King's Place and London Guitar Festival. I hold two First Prizes at international level guitar competitions. I have studied with some of the world's most sought-after guitarists and pedagogues, including John Mills, Gary Ryan, Antigoni Goni, Eden Stell Duo, Gabriel Bianco and Sean Shibe to name a few, and this knowledge is passed directly to my own students. I have been playing guitar for over 12 years and teaching for around seven. I love to share my passion with others through my teaching and would be very happy to be a part of your musical journey!

I teach classical guitar for all ages and abilities whether a complete beginner or more experienced guitar player. I am able to prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity or RockSchool grade exams or to study for their own goals. I can also teach music theory beginner/intermediate level. As I am classically trained I mainly take on classical students however I am confident in teaching other acoustic styles too, using my background in classical guitar to ensure a solid technique and musical comprehension. These are just some of the things lessons with me could cover: - producing a good sound - how to develop an interpretation of a piece - guiding your discovery of the classical guitar repertoire - learning to read music - understanding different musical styles - scales - tremolo and many other techniques - learning to give confident live performances - how to avoid injury when playing Whatever the style I aim to give students a well-rounded understanding of music and a grounded knowledge of their instrument; so that they understand the music they’re playing and not just how to play it. My goal is to find out what the student is motivated by, and to tailor my lessons accordingly to help them get the most out of their instrument and unlock the artist within them, drawing on my years of experience as a guitarist, as well as a wide range of teaching materials.
