About Ryan
Hello! My name is Ryan, and I am a OCT-trained (Ontario Certified Teacher) and award-winning educator, researcher, and writer. I carry over 10 years of experience working as a middle-school, high school, and college and university instructor. I have developed curriculum for various programs, and currently teach undergraduate courses at the University of Toronto.

Hello! My name is Ryan and I am a OCT-trained (Ontario College of Teachers certification) educator, researcher, writer, and pedagogue. I have taught across all levels of the Ontario school system but currently, work as a course instructor in the field of social sciences, and humanities at the University of Toronto. I am interested in supporting student learning in the areas of English language writing and research, essay writing and thesis development, resume and CV development, document preparation for graduate school applications (i.e. research statement, statement of intent, etc.) as well as focus-area tutoring in English, History, Geography, Political Science, and other social science and humanities disciplines. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto, and have widely written and published in scholarly journals. If you have an area of tutoring that is not listed above but would still like to work with me, please reach out! I am available to support students at the middle school, high school, and college and university level. I work through approaches to learning known as "culturally responsive pedagogy" which means I tailor our sessions to your personal experiences and lived reality. This way, we are able to make meaningful connections between your personal knowledge systems, prior academic trainings, and the content we are working through. I look forward to working with you!
