About Jonathan
Hi! My name is Jonathan Castle. I'm a student at Towson University's Honors College where I'm majoring in History-Secondary Education and minoring in English. In high school, I TA-ed and tutored in English 9, English 11, and Modern World History courses (all at the honors level) and had success aiding students in their work and getting them to engage with the material. I also spent a semester running the school's journalism program, where I learned classroom management and became a very efficient and skilled editor. As a graduating senior, I received the English department's award for my achievements In college, I've been selected to present my historical research at a conference and have had multiple papers recommended for journal publication and university awards.

- I like to get to know my students, understand their personalities and cater their learning to match their goals.
- For writing, I provide detailed feedback in addition to copyediting, helping students understand their strengths as writers and address their weaknesses through targeted practice.
- My lessons are fluid and adjustable; I adapt to the student's need and mood on a given day to best serve and challenge them.
- My teaching style is best suited to middle and high school students, both for students who need additional support and for students who would benefit from enrichment
- I'm a young student looking to get my start in tutoring out of a love of working with students. I understand the position of students in 2026 because I was in their shoes not long ago. I'm flexible and looking to better myself through this process!
