About Cyrus
Hi! I am Cyrus, an undergraduate flautist studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, under the tutelage of Ian Clarke and Sarah Newbold.
From sharing tips and tricks on playing the flute with my peers to leading and coaching wind ensembles, I have found my passion in teaching from an early age. With my experience in preparing for competitions and exams, I would be able to help you overcome your challenges and difficulties efficiently in various aspects of flute-playing, and most importantly, have fun while doing so!
I received both ATCL and LTCL diplomas in Flute Performance with distinction. Last year, I have won the First Prize in the Young Artist Category of the British Flute Society Competitions, and the Third Prize in the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition.
Since studying in London, I have been actively engaging in festivals to enrich my experience . Recently, I participated in the Venuto Opera Summer Course, performing operatic works by Mozart, Verdi and Mascagni in various towns in Venuto, Italy. I also performed in masterclasses with Robert Winn, Kate Hill and Denis Bouriakov in the past years.

No matter your age or level of playing, I aim at helping people who have a passion in music-making achieve their goals by sharing the techniques I have learnt in the past 14 years of playing the instrument!
I try to make our lessons fun and inspiring, and create a friendly environment to overcome various challenges and difficulties. I believe that developing good habits, such as maintaining a good posture and breathing 'naturally' is also essential in improving your flute-playing!
