About Helen
I am an award winning actress, coach and tutor with over ten years' experience. I can offer bespoke sessions which will be interesting, fun and challenging. As a professional actor with a wealth of experience in film, theatre, television and voiceovers I have transferable skills which I use to teach in schools and coach in business. I have an understanding of what drama schools are looking for in auditions as I have sat on the panel. I am happy to tailor sessions to your specific requirements. As an actress I trained at the Drama Centre London, winning the Alan Bates Award for most outstanding newcomer after graduating. I have since been nominated for other awards and was recently the first woman to play Hamlet in the South East of Europe. My theatre work has seen me tour the world and perform in the West End and Old Vic. TV experience includes leads in series for the BBC, ITV and US. Films in Cannes and recognition from Film International. I am head of Learn and Train for Rough Fiction, a physical theatre company. We run workshops and residencies in schools and universities on devising and physical theatre. Freelance I have taught in schools across the UK as a drama specialist, focusing on GCSE and A Level qualifications. Clients include Westminster and Bedales. As a writer and associate director I had 'The Expected' on at Wilton's Music Hall this summer. In business I have over ten years' experience working with teams and individuals as a freelance communications skills coach and facilitator. Clients range from both public and private sector companies across the world, from SONY to the NHS to Goldman Sachs. I specialise in effective communication, including areas such as influencing and persuading skills, managing up, personal impact, storytelling, flexing your style and presenting with impact. I am also trained in Thomas International's GIA (behaviour), PPA (performance) and TeiQue (emotional intelligence) psychometric tools. I am from London and St Leonards on Sea by Hastings. I am interested in exercise, galleries, theatre, film, spirituality and vegan chocolate!
