About Anna-Jane
I've been a freelance editor since 2015. I've worked with both independent authors and mid-level publishing houses. I specialize in fiction; I'm skilled in both content and copy editing (that is, improving writing on a stylistic level and on a technical level). In addition to this, I'm pursuing a B.A. in Special Education (K-12) from Western Governors University and I have three and a half years of experience working in a child care setting with children who are English language learners.

My priorities in terms of teaching methodology are to build on prior knowledge and to base lessons on student interests. If a student begins a lesson confident and engaged, more information will be retained and thus instruction will be rendered more effective. I'm also a firm believer in the combination of guided practice and supervised independent practice to ensure the retaining of and ability to apply what's been taught.
