About Ishan
Concurrently, I faced academic challenges, having failed mathematics in my first semester of college. Frustrated and disheartened, I contemplated dropping out. Recognizing the need to prioritize my studies, I made the difficult decision to switch off the newsletter and dedicate myself to improving my performance in class.
Determined to turn my setbacks into opportunities, I embraced a new approach to academic success. A year later, armed with newfound determination, I became an independent tutor on campus. Drawing on the skills I had honed during my time with Notion, I implemented strategic email marketing campaigns and held meetings with potential students. By meticulously studying my target market and identifying the challenges faced by students, I devised innovative solutions and pursued guerrilla marketing tactics. Setting up shop outside exam halls, I offered free test prep material to struggling students, leveraging my own academic achievements to attract their attention.
Through perseverance and dedication, my tutoring business flourished. Within four months, I had expanded my client list from 10 students to 75, reaching students across all levels of college education. A year later, I was invited to speak at an education conference, sharing my journey and offering advice to the next generation. Buoyed by the success of my tutoring venture, I ventured into new territory, founding Bartleby as a sales representative and Nine United as a corporate sales enterprise. With the profits I had earned, I secured a one-year lease for an apartment with an office room, laying the foundation for future endeavors and setting myself up for success in the years to come.
