About Vignon
I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Bridgewater State University, and I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. I have over 14 years of experience teaching courses such as: pre-algebra, algebra, precalculus, calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra and real analysis.

My main aim as an educator is to help students get excited to learn mathematics, to appreciate its importance in their intellectual growth, and to use my training, expertise, and passion for the subject to enhance their experiences. In my view, mathematical concepts should be presented as clearly as possible. The presentation should be inspiring, motivating, exciting, and students should be involved in this process.
I believe in teaching mathematics inductively. I introduce students to concepts by first exploring illuminating examples with this approach. This way, significant results, and theorems become naturally part of their knowledge, and they gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the concepts that I am hoping to get across.
While teaching mathematical content is my ultimate objective, I also understand that my attitude actively shapes my instructor's effectiveness. As such, I strive to be positive and respectful toward students. It is my opinion that teaching is about building relationships and making connections.
