About Sewwandi
I am a Financial Planning graduate currently working as an Associate Advisor in a financial planning firm, with over five years of experience in the finance industry. I will also be commencing my Professional Year (PY) as I work toward becoming a fully qualified Financial Advisor.
I am passionate about teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand complex concepts and gain confidence in applying them. Teaching not only supports students in achieving strong academic results, but also strengthens my ability to explain strategies clearly, an essential skill when working with clients in practice.
I have been tutoring university students for almost a year and aim to provide a supportive, structured, and professional learning environment while simplifying complex learning outcomes.

My Approach & Teaching Style
My teaching style is practical and application-focused. Because I currently work as an Associate Advisor in a financial planning firm, I use real-life industry examples to help simplify complex concepts and connect theory to real-world practice.
Rather than just memorizing content, I help students understand how to apply strategies in case studies, exam scenarios, and client-style questions. My goal is to build both technical knowledge and confidence.
Lesson Structure
• Sessions are typically 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the depth of material.
• Each lesson is tailored to your subject outline and assessment requirements.
• After every session, I provide practice questions or worksheets to reinforce learning.
• We review and refine answers together in the following session to strengthen exam technique.
• I am also available via text between sessions to clarify quick questions or concepts.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics
• Master’s degree in Financial Planning
• Graduated within the top 15% of my cohort
• Nearly one year of tutoring experience supporting university students
I genuinely enjoy teaching and have found that helping students understand complex topics not only supports their success but also strengthens my ability to communicate strategies clearly in professional practice.
