About Emma
Graduate with a BA in Arabic and a BA in International Studies, I'm based in the Southeastern United States. After university, I lived in Meknes, Morocco for 12 months, doing intensive language classes and interning at a hospital. I then lived in Amman, Jordan, for 9 months, where I continued to do advanced Arabic language classes and volunteer with refugee girls. Learning Arabic has consumed my life for a long time, I am ready to share my experiences and strategies with you!

Hello! I am an experienced Arabic tutor, from teaching letters to children to reading advanced texts with university students. I can teach students from the very beginner level through the advanced levels.
While I stress the importance of working with a native speaker, as a non native speaker I can provide you invaluable first hand knowledge into learning the Arabic language. I know how to learn all the vocabulary, the grammar, the differences between dialects, pronouncing all the new letters - because I did it myself!
As a volunteer tutor for refugee girls from Syria, Palestine, and Sudan, I taught Arabic from the letters all the way through grammatical concepts. I also tutored students in the Arabic program at my university, so any question you have, I have probably already answered it! From letter pronunciation to the verb measures, cultural phrases to handwriting, I have a wealth of experience teaching and learning that will be invaluable to your language learning needs.
As a teacher, I provide fun and engaging lessons that will be tailored to your specific level. I teach Modern Standard Arabic, and will practice reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. We can read through passages with focus on vocabulary or pronunciation, and listen to videos of native speakers, pausing and listening for words and phrases. These forms of close reading and close listening boosted my fluency, and I have a variety of engaging materials to choose from! I will provide you with my tried and true study strategies to ensure you get the maximum benefits from materials in Arabic.
