About Magdalena
I am a photographer and educator, originally from Poland, who moved to England in 2010 to continue my art education at Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, and the Royal College of Art, where I completed my Master’s Degree in Photography in 2019.
For over 15 years, I have been teaching Art Theory and Practice, supporting students with portfolio preparation, art university applications, competitions, and artist statements, as well as guiding those just beginning their creative journey. I design custom programmes tailored to each student’s level, ambitions, and goals.
My approach balances structure and discipline with freedom and experimentation, ensuring students develop both technical skills and their own artistic voice. Alongside portfolio and application support, I also teach Photography and Graphic Design and am familiar with a range of exam boards, including AQA and Pearson Edexcel. I have worked with students across all levels, from primary school to higher education.
My teaching is inspired by the Great Masters of the Renaissance as well as contemporary art practice. I believe that research and contextual knowledge are essential tools for artistic development, and I encourage students to integrate these into their creative process.
Whether you are preparing for A-Levels, applying to art school, refining your portfolio, or writing your artist statement, I provide expert guidance, motivating critique, and supportive mentorship to help you achieve your goals.

Perfect! Our teenage daughter did several online classes with Magdalena, to help her with her art portfolio. Magdalena is a very nurturing and patient teacher, with a wonderful way of talking through art pieces. She also went out of her way to be available. We would highly recommend her.

My daughter had a pleasure of learning Polish GCSE with Magda. Their lessons were engaging and well-structured. Magda is very patient, supportive and creates an environment that makes learning enjoyable and stress-free. My daughter made great progress and feels much more confident using the language. If you're looking for a dedicated and passionate tutor Magda is very good at what she does.
Magdalena is knowledgeable and patient. She provides clear guidance, practical exercises, and helps students build confidence in their creative work.
Magdalena is an excellent teacher. She explains concepts clearly, adapts lessons to each student’s needs, and helps them improve their skills in art, photography, and design.
Magdalena has been nothing short than an amazing tutor, she helped me a lot with art and I've managed to do great progress thanks to her.
