About Mert
I am a Part 2 Architecture graduate with a Master of Architecture (MArch) with Distinction and 5 years of professional experience in the architectural industry. During my career, I have worked across a wide range of small to medium-scale residential and commercial projects, with a strong focus on design and developing projects from initial concepts through to detailed proposals.
My interest in architecture and design started at GCSE, where I first explored architectural ideas through Art and Design. This continued through my A-Levels, where I studied Photography and Fine Art alongside Geography. These subjects helped me develop a strong creative and visual approach, which I have continued to build throughout my architectural education and professional career. During my undergraduate studies, I developed both hand-drawing and computer-aided design skills, learning how to communicate ideas through both traditional and digital methods.
Outside of architecture, I have a genuine passion for photography, which I continue to pursue as a hobby. I enjoy photographing buildings, interiors, places and small details that catch my attention. Photography has helped me develop a better understanding of composition, light, perspective and visual storytelling, which I also bring into my architectural work.
I also have a particular interest in interior design and enjoy exploring how materials, colours, lighting, furniture and the arrangement of spaces can influence how a place feels and functions. I enjoy sharing this creative perspective with students and encouraging them to explore their own ideas rather than feeling there is only one correct way to approach a design.
Having experienced the journey from GCSE and A-Level creative subjects through undergraduate and postgraduate architectural education and into professional practice, I understand that every student has a different way of learning and developing their ideas. I aim to provide friendly, practical and constructive support, helping students build confidence in their creativity, develop their design skills and create strong portfolios that reflect their own personality and interests.

I hold a Master of Architecture (MArch) with Distinction and have 5 years of professional experience working across a wide range of architectural projects, from small to medium-scale residential developments to commercial projects. My professional work has been heavily focused on design, and I have a particular personal interest in interior design, interiors and creating well-considered spaces.
I can help students develop their architectural and interior design skills, strengthen their portfolios and build confidence in presenting their ideas. For students preparing for university, I can help you develop a professional portfolio template using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, as well as advise you on how to structure, organise and present your work effectively for future studies.
For university students, I can provide practical support with design projects, architectural drawings, 3D modelling, visualisation and portfolio development. I can help improve your AutoCAD skills by teaching techniques and workflows that make drawing quicker, easier and more efficient. I can also teach Rhino 3D modelling techniques and Blender rendering techniques to help you produce stronger architectural visualisations and presentations.
My lessons are practical, friendly and adapted to your level and objectives. Whether you need help developing a project, learning new software, improving your portfolio, preparing for university or gaining advice from someone with professional experience, I aim to help you develop your own ideas and become a more confident designer.
Lessons typically range from 1–2 hours, depending on your needs and the work we are focusing on.
