About Hermon
I have had a varied career in the S.T.E.M. related fields. I have worked as an extraction chemist, instrumentation chemist, DNA analyst, and microbiologist. I have been fortunate to train new analysts in each of these opportunities. I am excited to use what I have learned and teach it to the new crop of upcoming scientists. I have a history of connecting with people of various backgrounds, and look forward to sharing my knowledge.

I use simplicity to share my knowledge in the life sciences. I use analogies, using terms and concepts the student is already familiar with, to teach. A typical lesson plan will introduce 2-3 concepts at a time, with useful examples on how to apply the new information. My experience, along with my ability to explain complex ideas in layperson terms, is an ability that has set me apart as a mentor and trainer in my career. I believe it will do the same as a tutor. I'm looking forward to working with eager middle school and high school students with a passion for chemistry and math.
