About Kerissa
I’ve been singing and performing for years, with experience on stages in both Mumbai, India and New York City. In Mumbai, I’ve performed at venues including the NCPA, Royal Opera House, and Hard Rock Café, and was a featured soloist with Kokomo Choir. I’ve also performed with a concert choir at Carnegie Hall and have experience helping with vocal rehearsals and warm-ups for a children’s production of The Sound of Music.
My background includes musical theatre, choral singing, solo performance, and contemporary music, so I’m comfortable working across different styles. I especially enjoy musical theatre repertoire, but I’m also happy to work on general vocal technique, confidence, song interpretation, and beginner music theory. I want lessons to be relaxed and approachable while still giving students practical tools they can actually use.

I’m new to teaching, so my lessons are flexible and built around what each student actually wants to improve. For singing, we can work on vocal warmups, breath support, pitch, range, song interpretation, and building confidence with material you enjoy. I can also help beginners with basic music theory, including reading music, rhythm, key signatures, and other fundamentals.
I trained in Musical Theatre at AMDA, so I can also bring a performance perspective into lessons when helpful. My goal is to keep lessons practical, encouraging, and tailored to your level rather than following a rigid one-size-fits-all plan.
