About Charles
My previous experience in mathematics includes all of standard high school math (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2) as well as having completed AP Calculus BC, and current study of Multivariable Calculus for a career in mechanical engineering.
My strong suits in Algebra 1 are functions, equations, and graphing, all of which I am able to explain very simply. I am also able to explain where concepts might be applied in real life.
It is my guarantee as a tutor that you will understand the full theory of whichever Algebra 1 subject you need assistance in.

Hello! My name is Charles and I am an Algebra 1 Tutor who teaches late elementary to middle school students.
My approach to teaching is through visual examples and practice of concepts. A typical lesson plan would start by understanding which areas the student needs assistance in, addressing those areas through notes, visual examples, and explanations, and then assigned practice work.
What sets me apart from other tutors is that I strive to teach students the full concepts and theory as opposed to route memorization. I teach full theory because this will help prepare the student for future math and science courses.
As for who I teach, this would only be late elementary school to middle school students (Including incoming 9th Graders) because this is my experience in child care in the past.
In tutoring, it is my first and foremost goal to help young learners prepare for the future as well as helping them build confidence in their education.
