About Sam
I am an engineering student in my second year at Imperial College studying for an MEng degree currently achieving a first class. I have previously mentored students sitting their GCSE maths exams who were not on target to reach their grade, however after the 1 to 1 sessions they all managed to reach their target grade or higher. In my own studies I received a 9 in GCSE Maths and an A hat in GCSE Further Maths, additionally I achieved A* in both A-Level Maths and Further Maths.

After taking multiple different Maths papers at different levels I have found the best way to achieve a top grade is not only to understand the content the exam board sets, but also to find the correct method to approach a question so it is answered efficiently and correct. Therefore during sessions I find the student will most benefit from an approach of learning the base knowledge of the topic first followed by multiple exam style questions, where the focus will be on the method used to reach the final answer rather than the answer itself. This is because the majority of marks in an exam are given for the correct method and once you understand how to complete a question of a certain type it can be applied to a multitude of other questions.
Before the session I will need to be notified of the exam board and material they want to work on so I will have the best knowledge on the topic and provide the highest service.
