About Jasmine
I am an Actuarial Science Graduate from Heriot-Watt University, UK. I am a very enthusiastic, hardworking individual and a consistent performer, confident to use my own initiative to achieve goals. After acing O & A Levels with flying colours, I started my bachelor's. I scored an A grade in Mathematics in both O levels and A levels. Having attended schools in my city, I developed a passion for learning and my love for problem-solving and my curiosity culminated in my ultimate decision to study to join the actuarial profession. Mathematics ascertained that this is the subject that intrigued me the most as it contains numerical methods, practical applications, and analysis. As a mathematics student, I also have highly transferable skills, including the ability to work well in a team, strong analytical abilities, effectively manage my time, and an expert in problem-solving. As an actuarial student, I am able to use my mathematical skills to measure the probability and risk of future events and also predict their financial impact. My passion for spreading the knowledge to others and having teaching traits since high school always created an urge to teach. I started online teaching in 2020 and so far, I have taught GCSE and IGCSE Pearson Edexcel O and A Levels to students, primary Mathematics to student with Autism, High-School, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Maths to other students. I have taught statistics and higher statistics to S2-S6 students and university students. I also have taught other private international students various topics including higher order derivatives, integration, correlation and linear regression, hypothesis testing, contingency tables, probability theorems and distributions, portfolio theory, finance and calculus-related topics. Not only this, but I also did Maths Teaching Internship at Cardinal Hume Catholic School in summer 2022 where I experienced in-person teaching and observed, planned, and taught Maths lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students. This opportunity gave me a rich and significant experience in teaching. During the internship, I learnt teaching standards, principles of effective instruction, and various strategies for well-structured lessons and explaining concepts while considering the strengths and needs of all pupils and ensuring a good and safe learning environment. While working as a teacher, I witnessed visible progress in students’ abilities, and I could go home with a smile on my face and a real sense of pride. Because of the love and satisfaction, I got while helping others to understand Mathematics better, I could envision myself becoming an educator. Therefore, I am seeking a challenging opportunity, where my skills and expertise can be further utilised and enhanced.

One of the best tutor one can have. She is super passionate about teaching and always ready to help students to understand the concepts. You can ask her about a topic dozens of times if you don't understand it and she will always respond like she is teaching it to you for first time. I use to struggle with calculus. She was the only reason I was able to ace the class and understand concepts very well. She would politely respond to my questions and would give real-world examples to help me understand the question and concepts. I would have not passed the class without her. She also shows easier way to solve the same problem which really helped me. I would highly recommend her to other superProf community because of her politeness and incredible teaching style.
