About Prithiyanga
I am a dedicated Mathematics tutor with a strong academic background and a professional, structured approach to teaching. I hold an MSc in Actuarial Science, a field built on advanced mathematics, statistics, and real-world problem solving, which reflects both my subject expertise and analytical training. My experience includes supporting students across school, GCSE/IGCSE, and A-Level levels, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve better exam results. I believe professionalism in tutoring means being well-prepared, patient, and reliable, while creating a focused and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. Each lesson is planned with clear objectives, regular practice, and exam-oriented guidance, ensuring that students not only understand the concepts but also gain the confidence to perform independently. My approach to tutoring is simple: make Maths feel logical, manageable, and a lot less scary than its reputation suggests. I focus on building strong fundamentals first, because once students understand the *why* behind a method, the formulae stop feeling like random rules and start making sense. A typical lesson (usually about 60 minutes) begins with a quick recap, followed by clear explanation of the concept, guided problem-solving, and then exam-style questions to build speed and confidence. I keep sessions interactive and encourage students to think aloud, ask questions freely, and learn from mistakes — because that’s where real improvement happens. I hold an MSc in Actuarial Science (a profession that lives and breathes advanced mathematics), and I’ve worked with students across school, GCSE/IGCSE, and A-Level levels, especially those who want to strengthen their basics or improve their exam performance. Many students come in convinced they’re “just bad at Maths” — my job is to prove otherwise, one solved problem (and one reduced panic level) at a time.
