About Katriana
I have a bachelor degree on Journalism and a minor in Drama and I'm currently studying a Master of Fine Arts in Acting at the University of Southern California. I have experience working as a Journalist in Puerto Rico which provide me skills for tutoring Spanish. I also have experience teaching theater to children and teenagers and assisting special education students in the academic environment.

With my theater background I am prepared to apply artistic dynamics into the learning process of any subject. These dynamics consists in theater games developed by the founder of the Theater of the Oppressed, Augusto Boal which was influenced by the educator and theorist Paulo Freire. Both theorists promoted the critical thinking with their methods. The theater games invite the student to be proactive in the learning process while it's approach is an engaging way to keep them attentive. This method is useful to discuss any social matter but also to present learning topics as well as to implement the practical aspect of the subject.
