About George Odarquaye
I believe words are magical and it's not just about taking out a piece of paper and writing a poem but immersing yourself in yourself, environment, imagination and observations about life. I refer to my book as one of life, love and landscapes and it's a mantra I use throughout my teaching. I don't have boundaries in my work and this stems from me as a person not wanting to be pigeonholed. I have a maths degree, am a published poet and an actor. Why not? You don't need to be skilled in poetry, come from a traditional writing background or be a specialist in grammar. I want to take you on a journey to ignite the feeling, words and passion that is within you.

My poetry lessons are based on how I developed and published my book of 44 poems. I cover core principles in approach, inspiration, writing technique, reading and performing. I like to keep my lessons focused and fun and last 45min. Trained as a professional actor 12 years ago in London and Los Angeles, I bring these skills to my classes. My lessons are open for everyone and ideally from 16 years of age.
