About Dhanashri
I’m an Acting graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, with professional training rooted in both classical technique and contemporary screen practice. As an Acting Trainer, I work closely with performers across experience levels, helping them build truthful, grounded, and camera-ready performances. My approach covers monologue preparation, scene study, character development, and cultivating a strong, confident screen presence. I focus on helping actors connect inner intention with physical and emotional expression, so performances feel lived-in rather than performed. Drawing from my own training and on-set experience, I emphasize clarity, listening, and emotional availability—skills essential for film and television acting. I tailor my process to each performer’s needs, whether they are preparing for auditions, roles, or foundational craft development. My goal is to help actors deepen their self-awareness, trust their instincts, and bring authenticity and depth to every moment on screen.

In terms of acting techniques, I love weaving together approaches like Meisner, Lee Strasberg’s Method, and Michael Chekhov’s Psychological Gesture — we work on tapping into real emotions, discovering inner impulses, and exploring imaginative ways to express character truth. I also run modules in psychological gesture, monologue work, scene study, and playback/lip-sync, so actors can sharpen their craft from every angle.
Movement and physical awareness are at the heart of how I teach — so I bring in training from Yoga, Kalarippayattu, Thang Ta, Chhau, Taekwondo, Dance, and Body Movement to help actors feel confident, expressive, and fully connected to their bodies. I believe that when you feel your body, your performance naturally becomes more alive and truthful.
