About Matthew
Hello! My name is Matthew Byrne. Originally from Wamberal beach, Australia, I travelled to 34 countries, until I found my home in NYC, where I’ve lived for the past 3 years. I am a graduate of The William Esper Studio where I was able to work on many great plays- from George Bernard Shaw to Shakespeare. After graduating, my plan is to put my focus on film & television work in Indigenous and cultural Australia work.

I am a meisner trained actor, I have trained in kristin linklater, fitzmaurice technique, mask, mime, Alexander technique, improv, heighten text (George Bernard Shaw, Shakespeare.), stage combat, and on camera.
My methodology of acting comes from the imagination and by doing that creating the most truthful acting possible. My goal is to help you find moments that allow you to successfully work the text. So the text serves you and from there we can work on the vocal work of the story.
I can verse you in certain methods of script analysis regarding the content and playwright.
Clarity towards the text. Help with clearing speech issues towards before presenting a school project to create freedom in performance.
I can help you learn vocal warm ups to be stage ready.
Vocal game exercises to use with a scene partner.
