About Cosette
With over 11 years of experience as a Piano tutor, I have taught students ranging from beginners to advanced learners across school, college, and professional backgrounds. I aim to make piano learning clear, structured, and enjoyable while helping students gain skill, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for music.
My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity, patience, and steady progress. I emphasise proper hand technique, finger coordination, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory, while also encouraging creativity, musicality, and expression. Lessons are explained in simple English, supported by practical exercises, familiar songs, and real-life examples to ensure students understand and enjoy learning.
I adapt my teaching style according to the student’s age, skill level, and goals. For young learners, lessons are interactive and engaging, while adults and professionals receive structured, flexible, and goal-oriented sessions. Many of my students have performed successfully, passed music exams, and developed a lifelong love for piano. Helping students reach their full musical potential is the most fulfilling part of my teaching.

My teaching methodology emphasises compassion, supportiveness, and effective communication. I believe learning is most effective when students feel safe, encouraged, and motivated to explore their potential. In piano lessons, I combine structured practice with creative exercises to help students build technical skill, musical understanding, and confidence.
I tailor lessons to each student’s pace, abilities, and interests, break down concepts into clear steps, and provide demonstrations for clarity. Constructive feedback and positive reinforcement guide students through challenges while celebrating every achievement.
I also teach other relevant subjects using the same student-centred, flexible approach. My goal is to help students grow academically and creatively, develop self-confidence, and enjoy a lifelong journey of learning.
