About Harper
French is one part of a twelve-year tutoring career during which I have supported 580 students toward fluency or exam success across a wide range of goals. My own fluency developed through extended study and professional work across French-speaking regions, giving me deep practical familiarity with the language beyond formal classroom study alone. I am demanding but deeply invested in every student, believing genuine fluency requires patient, deliberate practice rather than rushed memorization attempted right before a deadline. Several of my tutoring relationships have lasted many years, letting me guide a student's entire language journey from first lessons onward.

I place strong emphasis on deliberate, focused practice with difficult grammar structures, insisting on genuine mastery before introducing more complex variations that build naturally on what came before. Vocabulary and grammar are taught alongside real cultural context, helping students understand language as a living reflection of culture rather than an abstract rule system disconnected from real use. For exam preparation I rely on frequent mock oral and written assessments under realistic conditions.
