About Matthew
I am a dedicated and high-achieving Auckland Grammar School student currently studying in an accelerated Pre-Q academic program. I am passionate about helping younger students develop confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals.
My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and focused on creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, clear explanations, and consistent practice.
I provide personalized Maths and English lessons tailored to each student’s current ability, learning style, and goals. My aim is to help students not only improve their results but also develop stronger problem-solving skills, confidence, and independence in their learning.

Hi! I am an accelerated Pre-Q Auckland Grammar School student offering Maths and English tutoring for Year 7–9 students.
My teaching approach focuses on making difficult concepts easier to understand through clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and practical examples. I adapt each lesson to the student’s ability and learning goals, helping them build confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes, including explanation of concepts, guided practice, questions, and feedback. I focus on not only helping students complete their work but also improving their understanding so they can become more independent learners.
I have experience with advanced academic coursework through Auckland Grammar’s accelerated Pre-Q programme and understand the expectations of secondary school learning.
My lessons are suitable for Year 7–9 students who want to strengthen their Maths and English skills, improve assessment performance, or gain more confidence in their studies.
