About Grace
Hey, I'm Grace! I'm a recent alumni from Cal State Long Beach (2024) with a Bachelor's in pure Mathematics. I've been a 1-on-1 high school math tutor for over 5 years, so I am confident and comfortable with everything math-related, all the way up to AP Calculus AB.
I pride myself in listening to my students' questions (rather than assuming I know what they're going to ask). My way of teaching is to build off of what a student already knows, so I adapt my teaching methods for each student I meet. It keeps things interesting for both of us and keeps students from feeling lectured or talked down to, while encouraging them to keep trying. Because oftentimes, students are on the right track! They just need a small nudge in the right direction. My goal is to give them that nudge, so they can come to their "Aha Moment" and finally understand something they've been confused about.
Many students I work with can increase their scores by at least one letter grade, and I've had a few who really put in the effort to work with me and understand the material, and managed to bring their grade up from a D to a B!
