About Aubrey
I am an experienced tutor since high school where I used to help younger students with French and Economics. I love helping students in any way possible, and I have carried this on into my university life. You can trust my credibility by knowing that I tutor for the Political Science Department at McGill, which is no simple task. I know that I can help you achieve the skills you want to pursue in written english (essays) or coursework.

My lessons are based on the Social Sciences, or Arts as we know them at University, and can include tutoring on anything from thematic content in history to essay writing.
My approach to tutoring is simple and similar to the ways I was taught by my peers in their own tutoring sessions: I understand the student and their needs. I then structure all lessons around them. At the beginning of the session, I check-in and discuss the content plan, then at the end, I make sure we are on the same page for content to review next. For writing classes, I provide sample papers and review formatting tools and grammar, along with essay structure. Further on, together with the student, we examine written academic work to help inspire new ways of writing or to enhance the student's own voice in their writing. I am a firm believer in reading other works, or sample papers, to ameliorate one's own writing skills.
For thematic content, like history lessons, I first understand the students needs and adjust lessons accordingly. From experience, students usually need help in piecing historical events together and understanding the larger framework at play. Indeed, history has broad themes that guide its course, which take thorough understanding to grapple with. As an undergraduate student in History, I believe I am well positioned to help students seeking help in understanding their coursework in History, or any other social science class.
In terms of a fun fact, I am bilingual in English & French, which is helpful for my students at university whom I tutor too. They can switch between both languages in talking to me, which helps them express everything they need to say sometimes.
Feel free to contact me with my email or in the messages tab to discuss what's next!

We met through McGill! Aubrey is a very good teacher as they've helped me with my structure on essays and given me a great number of tips ranging from websites (Owl Purdue) to personal 1 on 1 essay comparisons (methodology in history vs. Political Science ; how to do proper counter arguments etc..)
Aubrey is attentive, caring, and a very intelligent person. They would make an amazing teacher and tutor for students.
Hands down, one of the best tutors out there at university! Aubrey will help you write essays, finish late homework, break down a course reading - anything - to get you to that higher grade. I met them (yes, they are non binary) at university and they help me often (thankfully free of charge) by proofreading & editing my essays or homework assignments. I love them so much, they are so patient and thoughtful, and they will always put your needs first. So you can definitely trust them to try their hardest at helping whatever you want to achieve this term
