About Priscilla

Hi, I’m Your Tutor — Not Just Here to Teach, But to Transform Your Learning Journey (: Who I am: I’m a 3rd Year undergraduate from NTU Physics, but more importantly — I’m a tutor who’s been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to struggle with a tricky math problem, feel stuck on a science concept, or lose focus during long study sessions. That’s why I don’t just teach subjects; I teach how to learn. Why I teach: Because I believe every student can excel when given the right tools and guidance. My greatest reward isn’t just the A’s, but seeing a student who once said “I can’t” start saying “Let me try.” If you’re ready to move from “I don’t get it” to “I’ve got this” — I’m here to help. Let’s build not just better grades, but lasting confidence. Subjects & Levels: · Primary (P1–P6): Math, Science, English, Chinese · Secondary: Math, Physics (all levels) • Junior College: H2 Math, H2 Physics

1. Teaching Experience & Syllabus Familiarity - Subjects & Levels Taught: - Primary: Math, Science, English, Chinese (P1–P6). - Secondary: Math, Physics all levels. - MOE Syllabus Expertise: Lesson materials and assessments are aligned with the latest MOE syllabus updates (e.g., PSLE 2023 Math format adjustments, O-Level Science inquiry-based frameworks). Regularly review MOE documents and integrate exam trends. 2. Student Impact & Quantified Results - Scale & Reach: Taught 50+ students across 8 schools as a part-time tutor for 1 year at Edufirst Learning Centre (e.g., Raffles Girls’ Primary, Nan Hua High, Anderson Primary). - Proven Grade Improvements: - Primary Math: 4 students improved from ≤50% to 85–100% within 6 months. - Secondary Physics: 3 O-Level students boosted scores by ≥2 grades (e.g., Sec 4 Express student: C6 —> A2). - ADHD Support: Custom techniques helped a P3 ADHD student improve his concentration during long classes. Implemented guiding techniques to motivate him to complete a full math paper in 1 sitting. 3. Proposed Lesson Plan (Structured & Adaptive) - Phase 1: Diagnostic Assessment Identify gaps via baseline quizzes & error analysis. - Phase 2: Concept Reinforcement Visual aids (e.g., Science concept maps), real-world applications (e.g. using shopping scenarios for Math). - Phase 3: Skill Application Tiered practice: Foundational questions (e.g., MOE-style open-ended Science problems). - Phase 4: Exam Simulation Timed drills with post-test analysis targeting recurring errors. - Progress Tracking: Fortnightly reviews with parents via digital reports. 4. Teaching Materials (Beyond Assessment Books) - Custom Resources: - Annotated error logs & topic summaries. - Gamified quizzes (Kahoot!) - Primary Science flashcards with infographics. - External Tools: MOE-approved online portals (e.g., SLS), interactive simulations (PhET for Physics). 5. Teaching Style - Strength-Based Approach: Tailor methods to learning profiles (e.g., mnemonics for memory-inclined, Socratic questioning for analytical learners). - Concept Mastery Focus: Break down complex topics (e.g., Math heuristics) using step-by-step "thinking frameworks". - Growth Mindset Cultivation: Milestone celebrations + constructive feedback loops.
