About Thurkga
Hello, I simply love teaching!
Sharing the same knowledge that I had once found difficult myself but in an easier to comprehend manner for students is something that is just simply very rewarding! When I realised how a lot of topics taught in school aren’t actually that difficult at all, but only seem so because of the manner that we are taught in, I have since wanted to ensure that other students can also learn the shortcuts and tips I had used to attain all A* for GCSEs and 7 and 6s for the International Baccalaureate.
I have been tutoring privately already for 5 years and am confident in my teaching skills as well as my ability in motivating students to achieve their full potential.

With my 5 years tutoring experience, what I have found works best is explaining topics from my own personal experience, and then ensuring the knowledge is retained through quizzes and giving exam material. I also am aware of the importance of memorisation in biology so have a lot of mnemonics I can provide students with. As a medical student, my biological knowledge is rest assured very up to date. I also use online apps such as Jamboard to further make the classes interactive. Lessons are typically one hour.
