About Jou-Myu
I am Jou-Myu, a 1st year medical student at Cambridge University, having previously studied at Westminster School. I hold an honorary research position at King's College London Hospital working in the Vascular department. I scored 3A*s in Biology, Maths and Economics and a D1 (A** equivalent) in Chemistry at A-level/Pre-U. I also achieved 11 9s at GCSE. In addition, I received all 4 offers from the medical schools I applied to.
I am passionate about pursuing a career in the sciences and as a medical student, I recognise the importance of passing knowledge to those I mentor in a holistic and interactive manner through Oxbridge style supervisions/tutorials. In my sessions, there is no student and teacher but rather a collaborative effort to not only help with exams, but also to bolster strong critical thinking skills. This is a philosophy I strongly believe in as critical thinking has applications far outside the classroom whilst also being representative of a successful student.

These sessions will be tailored to the individual student's knowledge level. I teach up from 11+ until A-level and usually tutor for around an hour. My lessons will largely be run in a supervision/tutorial format designed to be interactive and encouraging inquisitive thought from my students. Lessons start with an initial recap on previous sessions including set homework where the student will be able to ask about topics they found difficult. We will then cover new topics in presentation style with increasingly challenging questions, ultimately moving to exam style and past papers. This will take up the bulk of the lesson before ending with a recap and outlining homework.
