About Ciaran
I am a 3rd year MEng Chemical Engineering student at the University of Edinburgh. I have taken mentoring postions previously in school, being a senior prefect and mentor to year 8 students. On a more personal level, I have mentored various Univeristy students with limited knowledge in mathematics to enable them to pass their first year modules, namely in mathematics based modules in Medicine. In school i achieved 7 A*s and 4 A's at GCSE level including Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry. At A level I achieved AAB including Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. I have completed the 2 years worth of core Chemistry degree modules along with Engineering Mathematics modules, giving me a strong background in both.

My teaching method is interactive and active recall based, recalling methods that worked best for me when I was a student in school and applying these methods with the experience I have gained through exam preparation and learning within my current degree. My preferred method of teaching is to work through the key concepts, ensuring the understanding is there with the student, then encouraging active recall via self-study and lastly, providing corrective and constructive feedback.
